The judging procedure
All eligible work submitted will be presented to and reviewed by the jury. There will be no pre-selection for either Wolda Professional or Wolda Talent.
The judges will vote using a dedicated area of the website that has been carefully designed to prevent bias. They will be able to scroll through the participating logos and see information about each one, excluding the designers' names and details of their studio.
Winning entries are determined according to the following criteria: clear communication of message, originality and creativity, good graphic design and positive overall impression.
- Designers participating in Wolda 2010 consist the jury committee, delegated to scoring.
- Each juror gives each logo a mark. The designers give marks from 0 to 5. Each juror is also allowed to select one logo as his or her overall favourite.
- Any logos which have received a score of zero from more than 50% of the judges are eliminated.
- All the remaining logos are then ranked in order of their total score. The 'Best of the World', 'Best of Continent' and 'Best of Nation' winners are chosen on the basis of this ranking. In the case of a tie-break, relative positions are decided on the number of 'juror's favourite' selections for each logo or, failing that, are decided from the Wolda's founding editors (three award-winning design directors with over twenty years of experience in the field of logo design).
- The number of logos to be included as winners will be determined by Wolda's founding editors, whereas the order in which the winning entries appear will be determined by the jury.
